How would you feel watching all your friends going to school and having fun but you have to sit outside planting crops. Child labor is not fair to the children involved.

How Child Labor Happens

There are causes against child labor. 10 countries are engaged in child lab

or. Children work for their unpaid work and buy food for their families. Another reason for child labor is poverty, poverty is when poor families need to meet their needs. In addition parents feel desperate to send their kids to work instead of school. Kids may not work during school hours. In places like Africa there are laws against child labor and some business break those laws.

Interesting Facts About Child Labor

There are many interesting facts about child labor. 168 million kids are engaged in child labor. Children work as young as 3 years old. 30% to 50% of the children are under the age of 18. Kids work at ages 5-17. Therefore 85 million of those kids are involved in hazardous work. Some kids plant tobacco. Most of the work is highly poisonous. only 1 out of 5 children are paid for their families needs.

How We Can Stop Child Labor

However there are ways we can stop child labor. Start an organization like Free The Children. Stand up against child labor. You can do research to see what you can do to stop child labor. Volunteers give up their spare time to volunteer in an organization go to a Child Welfare Conference.
