A Message From Dr. Majka, Superintendent

Welcome back and happy 2020! As we enter a new year, we are often reminded of things we have done and stress over those things we have not. We think of our growing age, rather than the abundance of experiences we have had. As you enter this new year, remember, “Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears.”

John Lennon

On behalf of the district and school community, we welcome Ms. Annette Ascoli, Ms. Tara Martinez, and Ms. Kizzie Osborne. Additionally, Ms. Allison Friedman was re-elected as Board President and Ms. Randi Moore was elected Vice-President.

Thank you to all our board members for their voluntary service to our district.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration for 2020-2021 School Year

As the new year begins, many parents are starting to think about preschool for the upcoming year and others are starting to get nervous about their child's transition to kindergarten. We know that there is a lot of information out there and it can be overwhelming! So, to help our parents begin making plans for the 2020-2021 school year, there are links below with both preschool and kindergarten registration information.

Kindergarten Registration

All students moving up to Kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year must register for Kindergarten and show proof of residency. A child of parent(s) or legal guardian(s) legally domiciled within the district is eligible for entrance into Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year if he/she attains the age of five on or before October 1, 2020.

Returning Student Preschool Registration

The priority open enrollment for preschool begins the week of January 6th for current MARSD preschool students. Tuition student enrollment is done on a first come, first serve basis. Once all enrollment spots are filled, students are added to a wait list and enrolled in the order that names are received. Letters were sent home with eligible students with instructions about how to register for preschool next year. *Students with IEPs who are returning to preschool next year do not need to re-register at this time.

NEW Preschool Student Registration

We proudly offer a full day integrated 3 & 4 year old preschool program. Classes are taught by certified teachers using the research-based Tools of the Mind Curriculum and maintain a low student-teacher ratio. Students explore pre-academic concepts and develop strong social emotional skills.
