Lord Baltimore
In 1632, King Charles I of England granted the Maryland region to George Calvert, the first Lord Baltimore. But Calvert died before the king signed the charter. King Charles then chartered the region to Calvert's son, Cecilius, the second Lord Baltimore.
A Very Big State
Maryland is a big state. It has docks, tall buildings, and nice harbors and rivers. To prove that this is a big state, the population in 2013 was 5,884,563!

Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens were permitted to join the NFL in 1996, eleven years after the Baltimore Colts, (Now the Indianapolis Colts) made a controversial decision to move to Indianapolis. The Ravens won the Super Bowl in 2000 and 2012.
Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles are a baseball team in the AL East division. They have been based in Baltimore since 1954. They won the World Series in 1966, 1970, 1983
Baltimore Blast
Baltimore Blast are not too well known. They play in the Major Indoor Soccer League. The team was founded in 1992.
Star-Spangled Banner
The Battle of Baltimore inspired Francis Scott to write this song. Eventually, this song was chosen to be the national anthem of the USA!

The Baltimore Aquarium is bordered by a river. People can take a boat ride while seeing the exterior of the aquarium.

One of the shows at the aquarium features a seal, where he does a lot of tricks and stunts for viewing pleasure. Sometimes, you could get very wet if you're in the front row!
