Sing Language Enrichment
In sign language enrichment we dove into animals and concentrated on farm, jungle and ocean residents. We are learning a holiday favorite in sign language and we will share it soon. We love sharing what we have learned. December will bring more signs for manners, mini holiday lessons and a few surprises.
Montessori Prep
Pre-Primary
What is the Pre-Primary class thankful for? We asked our class during circle and some responses we received were bread, pie and chicken nuggets . This class is certainly thankful for the simple things in life! Precious!
The Pre-primary class enjoyed learning about the story of the 1st Thanksgiving and enjoyed participating in our school wide feast! Thanks to all the parents for making it a huge success!
The class is moving along at a very fast pace, we have been matching and naming shapes independently. They are very enthused about working on their cutting skills. We have also started working on fractions, understanding the difference between whole and half.
December is sure to be a busy month. The class has been doing a tremendous job rehearsing for our holiday sing a long. We will be learning about the different holidays that are celebrated this month. We ask parents/grandparents if they would like to volunteer their time (if their schedule permits) to come in and share a craft/story/tradition with the class. They really enjoy guest speakers!
Could you please send in pictures of holiday celebrations or traditions that your family may have.
Thank you!

Primary
Fall is ending and winter has begun.
Days may be shorter, but they're still filled with fun.
Time is flying by and days finish so quickly. Our classroom time during the month of November was filled with harvest work, leaf studies and sharing stories of thankfulness.
Our little learner loved using fall foods (plastic) in practical life to grow their fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
We counted feathers on turkeys, made sets of acorns for squirrels, and sequenced pilgrim teen number puzzles.
In our language area we used leaves and fall shapes to match upper and lower case letters. We are even beginning to use movable alphabets to match letters to three letter words.
Our sound of the week shelf is a popular spot where you can find independent work that incorporates sounds, cutting, gluing, and tracing. All great lessons that help our pre-writing skills and language.
In science we identified the parts of a turkey, owls, and squirrels and talked about the changes in the fall weather and what different animals can be found during this season.
Next month we will travel around the world and incorporate culture, holidays, and family traditions into our curriculum. This is a great month to share and connect home and family to the classroom. Please feel free to contact us if you want to share some of your traditions and family favorites.
The month of November may be gone, but the memories will be carried forward. We look forward to a busy December filled with fun. Be sure to stay updated on school and class happenings. December has lots of fun in store for us all.
