Summit School Newsletter
INNOVATIVE TEACHING. EXPERT EDUCATORS. THRIVING STUDENTS.
January 7, 2022
From the Head of School...
Dear Summit School Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and administration of Summit School, thank you for entrusting the education of your child to us at Summit School. It is rewarding for our teachers and staff to watch your child(ren) become stronger each year in both academic and social self-confidence. Although we are just ending the first semester of this year, we must begin now to plan for the 2022-2023 academic year. Many of you attended our Looking Ahead meetings, and we hope you are excited by the wonderful opportunities coming to Summit School. Enrollment for preschool, including our new pre-k, through grade eight is opening Monday with enrollment for our new Summit Toddler program for 18 month to 3 year olds coming soon.
Enrollment will begin on January 10, 2022. Tier 1 will run through February 15, 2022 for all current and new families. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the Tier 1 tuition benefit. Early registration helps us to plan for resources, classrooms, and staffing.
To re-enroll, you will access and complete your child(ren)’s re-enrollment packet online through your FACTS Family Portal account, starting around 9:00 am on January 10. When submitting the re-enrollment packet, you will be prompted to pay the non-refundable enrollment payment of $700 that is part of the total tuition owed and select your tuition payment plan. You will be contacted with a confirmation of enrollment for your child upon receiving a completed re-enrollment packet and receipt of the enrollment payment.
How to access the re-enrollment packet:
· Go to https://smt-az.client.renweb.com/pw/
- Enter District Code: SMT-AZ
- Enter your username and password. If you have forgotten your username or password, please click on Forgot Username / Password?
- After logging in, click on the Family or Apply/Enroll button in the left menu
- Click on the Enrollment/Reenrollment button
- If nothing seems to happen, check that your browser is not preventing the pop-up.
- Only one parent within the same household can be assigned to complete the packet. I can easily switch which parent is assigned to complete the packet. So please just let me know if the other parent, within the same household, should be assigned to complete the packet.
- If at any time you need to stop and complete the packet later, click the save button and your information will be saved.
While it is true that the value of education at Summit is one of the best, we understand that for some it becomes difficult to afford full tuition for a particular school year. The Arizona Private School Tax Credit program is a valuable tool to assist families in offsetting the cost of private school education. If you are interested in learning more about the Arizona Private School Tax Credit Program, please watch school newsletters for upcoming Parent Tax Credit meetings this spring. Please contact Lisa Stearns Hayes in admissions Lisa.stearns@summitschoolaz.org or Carrie Slade in the business office, carrie.slade@summitschoolaz.org, for more information regarding the tax credit program.
In addition, it is the objective of the Summit School Tuition Assistance Program to provide tuition relief to families in need who have children meeting the schools’ academic admissions criteria, but who are unable to afford full tuition for a particular school year. Assistance for students in grades kindergarten through 8th grade is based upon demonstrated family financial need and the school available funding each school year. The application process is attached.
It has been our pleasure to have you with us this year, and we look forward to you continuing to be a part of the Summit community in 2022-2023.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Nardi
Head of School

We Make Summit Amazing!
Cathy Reardon, grade 3 teacher
I grew up in Tucson, Arizona and have been married for 30 years to Patrick Reardon, a teacher at Seton Catholic. We have two amazing sons, Brett and Danny. Brett works for General Motors in Software Development and he lives in Austin with his new wife, Christina. Danny lives in Gilbert and he works as an EMT and coaches Cross Country at Seton Catholic. I also have a darling dog named Shelby.
I have a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona and an MA from Chapman University. After teaching in public school, I stayed home with my boys for several years before returning to teaching at the amazing Summit School. I have been at Summit for 20 years and I love it here!
In my free time I love to hike and play cards or Catan. I also love to cook (and eat), and be with my family.
Diana Clark, preschool teacher
Hi I’m Diana Clark and I have been teaching at Summit for 5 years. Two years before officially coming to Summit I was a Quality First Coach at Summit. I am excited to get up every morning to find out what new adventures awaits me in preschool.
I’ve worked in every aspect of the Early Care and Education profession. I have spent my 27 year career as a preschool teacher, a college Child Development Center Director, and even taught Child Development classes at the college level. My heart is in the early learning classroom, helping children become successful lifelong learners.
I’ve been married for 8 years and we love traveling and golfing together. Princess Sophia is 9 years old and loves doing anything that makes her feel like a human! She works as office security at our insurance agency.
Stephanie Nardi, Head of School
I have been an educator for over twenty years with experiences in private and public education. I have taught every grade level one through eight and hold licenses in teaching, principalship, director of curriculum and instruction, director of special education and pupil services, and at-risk and alternative education.
For fun, I like to take my Jeep off-roading or curl up at home with my dogs and relax. My husband and I also like to travel as much as possible.

Referral Credits
Our families are Summit’s best advocates and we appreciate when you share your Summit story with family and friends. We ask for your help in continuing to spread the word about Summit School!
In addition to helping create a thriving community of learners, Summit School has temporarily increased the Referral Credit from $500 to $1,000 as a credit toward your tuition liability for each newly enrolled student of a new family. This temporary increased referral credit amount is for new students (not applicable for siblings of current students or for returning students) that enroll between April 12, 2021 and March 11, 2022. Each credit is applied to your FACTS tuition account after the new family makes two tuition payments for the new student(s). During these stated dates there are no limits to the number of referral credits you may earn by supporting our school! Please contact Summit Admissions or Business Office if you have any questions regarding the family referral program.
Note: Referral credits of $600 or more require the completing of a W-9 form claiming the income. Referral credits are not applicable for voting members of the Board of Trustees.
