HCS Registration Information
Preparing for the 2019-2020 School Year!
Online Registration - All students, new and returning, will be able to register online for the 2019-2020 school year.
Returning students
The official deadline for returning students to complete online registration was last month on June 15th. If you still have not completed this, please do so immediately before the end of July to ensure your student has a valid, current record.
Parents should have received an email in early May from PowerSchool Registration with more information.
A list of students who did not receive emails from PowerSchool containing the snapcode link was generated and provided to each school on May 6. Families then may go to the following site to begin the online process.

On-Site Registration
Beginning in July, returning students may begin to bring the items listed below to the schools. All schools have the same schedule for receiving these three required documents on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 am - 2:30 pm July 9 - July 30 to verify residence:
Certificate of Residence - printed from the online registration portal then completed by parent, signed, and dated
Proof of Residence - Submit only one of the following:
Current annual property tax notice. Click here to locate and print your notice.
Current lease in the name of the parent or court-appointed custodian that is signed by Lessee andLessor
New sales contract on a home zoned for Homewood City Schools (a contingency contract is not acceptable).
Current Utility Bill - a bill from Alabama Power or Spire displaying the service or property address in the name of parent or court-appointed custodian
New students
Online Enrollment opens May 28 and closes June 27
(If you still have not completed this, please do so immediately before the end of July to ensure your student has a valid, current record.)
New student enrollment will be a two-step process:
1. Beginning May 1, new student forms will be posted here. Print and fill out the forms and take them to your child’s school any Tuesday or Thursday from May 28 - June 27 between 7:30 am – 2:30 pm.
For students new to Homewood City Schools and will be attending Homewood High School, contact Ellie Walker at 205-871-9663 ext 1215 any weekday to schedule an appointment to process enrollment packets and to meet with the counselor for academic guidance and course selection.
2. Parents will then receive an email from PowerSchool Registration with instructions and a link to complete enrollment online.

If you need language or technical support for online registration, you can visit the Board of Education (450 Dale Ave) on July 23 from 12 - 2 p.m.

Kindergarten Preview Day
Kindergarten Preview Day will be May 7 at 4 pm.
Students are encouraged to attend.
Elementary Class Lists & Meet the Teacher
Elementary Class Lists will be posted on August 6 at 3 pm outside of the schools.
Elementary Meet the Teacher will be August 8.
Kindergarten: 1 – 2 pm
First - Fifth Grade: 2 - 4 pm
HHS & HMS Orientations
HHS freshman orientation for students will be August 8 at 8:30 am, and the parent meeting will start at 10 am.
HMS orientation for 6th grade students and parents will be August 9 from 11 am - 12 pm
