A Note from the Nurse
Hello Parents and Guardians,
Here at MHLT we want to make sure that we all remain proactive in preventing the spread of illness. With the cold and Flu season in full swing here are a few reminders:
1. Encourage frequently hand washing and use hand sanitizer in between. It is the most important effort in preventing the spread of illness.
2. Teach your child to cover their coughs and sneezes and wash hands after either one of these occurs.
3. If your child is sick, they should stay at home until they are well. A temperature of 100.4 is considered a fever. Students should be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medicine before returning to school.
Counseling Corner
Has your tween ever given you a hard time when a family tradition changed? Traditions and rituals make family life more predictable and give tweens a sense of security. Maintaining or establishing family, cultural or religious rituals and traditions is one key to building strong families and helps build a sense of identity for your child.
Family rituals give us a chance to reconnect and provide important opportunities to teach family values. They give children a sense of belongingness and a feeling of being worthwhile. They also promote a sense of identity, which will later serve as a basis for adult development. The importance of recurring family rituals, from shared evening meals to family holiday traditions, is an important part of healthy adolescent development.

"Hello My Baby" @ LUHS
Hello! My Baby reboots the greatest hits of Irving Berlin, The Gershwins, Eubie Blake and more, weaving their updated classics and fresh, new tunes into a comic valentine set on the gritty sidewalks of New York at the turn of the last century. From Emmy Award winner, Cheri Steinkellner (Sister Act), comes a hysterical romantic farce that is fun for all ages.
Showtimes at March 3, 4, & 6 @ 7:00 pm, and Sunday, March 5 @ 2:00 pm. Click here to purchase tickets.
