24-25 School Choice Enrollment Clarification
The DPS SchoolChoice open enrollment process is for any student who wants or needs to attend a new school for the following school year, particularly “transitioning” students, typically incoming kinder, sixth- and ninth-grade students. All incoming preschool students, as well as incoming students who reside in an enrollment zone, must complete an application. Please note:
Early Childhood Education: Incoming preschool students, and incoming students who reside in an enrollment zone, must participate in SchoolChoice; due to space limitations, enrollment in a preschool program is not guaranteed.
Generally speaking, if your student is currently in kindergarten through 11th grade and will be staying at his or her current school for 2024-25, you do NOT have to fill out a SchoolChoice application.
The Round 1 SchoolChoice window for 2024-25 is 10 a.m. Jan. 11 through 4 p.m. Feb. 12, 2024. To participate in SchoolChoice, families submit one SchoolChoice application per student, on which they rank their top schools in order of preference, up to a limit of 12. DPS then uses a computer algorithm that matches students to schools based on those preferences, as well as school admission priorities and available space.
PTO Auction Classroom Baskets, Sign up by 1/22/24
- Our Inspire spring event is happening on March 9th and we are looking for TWO volunteers from each grade level to help us put together themed baskets for the auction. This is a great opportunity to raise money for our school!
- We'll keep it as easy as possible for you as a volunteer. We will help you come up with a theme, show you how to use Amazon wishlists, and Venmo to collect donations from other grade level families. You'll use these donations to put together your basket!
- If you are interested, please sign up here by Monday, 1/22/24.

Spelling Bee, 2/5/24 5:30pm-6:30pm
All grade levels will host a classroom Spelling Bee 1/23/24-1/25/24. The top three winners from each classroom in grades 3-5 will move on to our school Spelling Bee on February 5th. Families will be notified by their student's teacher of their child is a classroom (top three) winner. If you have any questions, contact your child's homeroom teacher. This is our first year participating in the bee. We hope you and your kids are as excited as we are!
