From the Desk of Ms. Clark
May 23, 2019
Dear Parents,
As we celebrate a long weekend beginning tomorrow, let us remember all who have fought for and defended our right to freedom. To those who died securing peace and freedom, to those who served in conflict to protect our land, to those who sacrificed their dreams of the day to preserve the hope of our nation by keeping America the land of the free, we owe our thanks and our honor.
On this upcoming Memorial Day, be sure to pause to reflect on just what has been given and sacrificed so freely, so that Freedom could ring across this great land.
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark
Race for Education- THANK YOU!
Our children had a great time walking the track today. Students with the most laps were awarded honorary medals for their feat! We want to especially thank our extended SKD Family for all of their donation dollars to this special fundraiser for our school! At this point, we have raised over $25,000 for our school. THANK YOU! WE COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
Spirit Night- Rescheduled
State of the School Address
Late Arrivals
All students (Pre-K to 8th grade) are expected to arrive at school on time. A student’s entire day can be thrown off by simply missing the morning routine in his/her classroom. Additionally, by arriving on time you send the message that you respect others and appreciate the value of their time and attention.
Stay Focused
Even though we are starting the last stretch of the school year, please continue to help us enforce the importance of good behavior and a solid work ethic with the children. Thank you, in advance, for supporting all that the teachers are doing during the school day to keep our students challenged by checking at home to see that homework and projects are completed.
Summer Enrichment Courses
Registration is still being accepted for our summer enrichment classes that are being held for all grade levels in August.

- Mrs. McDevitt will offer a math enrichment course for our upper grades.
- Mrs. Banas and Mrs. Dorneman will be offering a robotics camp.
Please see our website for specific registration information.
Hail Mary, Full of Grace
Class of 2019
As one of their last trips together, the Class of 2019 visited the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Tomb of our Patron Saint- Saint Katharine Drexel.
The students celebrated mass with Monsignor Marine at the tomb of Saint Katharine, had a private tour of the Cathedral Basilica, and visited the crypt below the main altar which has been the final resting place for Philadelphia’s Roman Catholic Bishops and Archbishops since 1869. To conclude their day, they enjoyed lunch in the park.
What a special and memorable day for our Class of 2019!
