Oakton Student Services Newsletter: September 2020
Student Services Highlights
Weekly Counselor Lessons
We also offered four different brain break activities on September 29:
- Virtual College Tour
- Escape Room
- Scavenger Hunt
- Yoga and Mindfulness
Students that attended the brain break sessions enjoyed the events and we plan on offering more in the future.
In October, we will be covering the Academic and Career Plan in Naviance with each grade level. Topics include goal setting, strengths and career exploration, building resumes and post-secondary planning. Each year, the county establishes tasks for each student to complete and we will be working on those tasks. Students who do not finish in the session will be given a deadline to complete on their own time.
All students and parents have access to Naviance at this link: www.fcps.edu/Naviance. We strongly encourage student and parents to review the tasks together.
October 6: Freshmen
October 13: Seniors
October 20: Juniors
October 27: Sophomores
