College and Career Readiness
College and career readiness should be the most important priority of all K-12 school systems. Elementary and secondary schools lay the foundation for students to leave their halls prepared either for specific careers immediately following high school or to further their education at a post-secondary institution. In truth, students’ proficiency with solving quadratic equations, writing term papers, or conducting experiments has little transferrable value unless students also develop a plan for how they will use their education as a springboard into their desired careers or higher education.

Senior Exit Surveys
The Senior Exit Survey helps schools track where and what senior students plans are post high school. Questions can include topics such as satisfaction with the instruction and counseling support received and how connected students felt to staff. A carefully crafted survey assists schools discover what they can improve upon for future classes and allows districts the opportunity to celebrate student accomplishments that they may not be aware of.
Sample surveys are easily found online. Data can be archived to establish trends and offer information to future stakeholders.

Read-Alouds That Demonstrate Fluency
YouTube has a large selection of read-aloud videos. Some are amazing - and some are not. The books included in the article below meet the following criteria:
- Has clear sound with an emphasis on the reading (we don't need music or any extra sounds).
- Shows the cover of each book.
- Mentions the title, author, and illustrator of the book (with correct pronunciation).
- Demonstrates proper concepts of print (pages turn from right to left).
- Shows the text of the book while the person is reading.
- Demonstrates fluent reading.
