Need Help Completing Your Annual Update? Join an In-Person Parent Session!

Parents needing help completing their student’s annual update are invited to attend a help session that will feature in-person support at the Spring ISD Community Engagement Center at 17125 Ella Blvd (computers available onsite).

Sessions will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and Thursday, Oct. 15 from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. Anyone needing assistance is asked to come during this time. In order to ensure everyone’s health and safety, masks will be required and all attendees will have their temperature taken before entering the building. Everyone will receive a number as they arrive so that social distancing is maintained.

Remember, the annual student update is required for all returning families. By completing this important online process, parents and guardians can ensure their student’s school has all of the information necessary for the 2020-21 school year, including details related to the Free and Reduced Lunch Program.

Picture Day is October 19-20!

Our fall picture days are coming up quickly. This year, we will have two picture days so that all of our in-person students have an opportunity to take their picture before lunch, recess and PE.

  • Monday, October 19 - 3rd through 5th grade
  • Tuesday, October 20 - pre-K through 2nd grade

Our Empowered-Learning At-Home students are invited to come to the school on their grade level's assigned day between 12:25 - 2:30 pm to take pictures. Even if you do not intend to purchase a picture package, please make plans to bring your student. These pictures are used for student IDs and to update their records.

To purchase pictures online, please visit and enter our school picture day ID: EVTGC96H8. You will be able to select a picture package and pay online. If you would rather send your order with your student, please look for the picture day flyer coming home soon!

Help Us Identify all of our Gifted and Talented Students

We know we have a lot of gifted and talented students in our school and we want to make sure we’re identifying and providing support to all of them.

Parents, please join the district for a special webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 10 am or 6 pm. to hear more about the district’s Gifted and Talented Program, learn about common characteristics of giftedness, as well as the district’s G/T referral and assessment process. A session in Spanish will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 6 pm.

All elementary campuses will be conducting universal screening of all Kindergarten and 5th grade students to determine possible placement in the G/T program. In addition, parents and teachers are encouraged to refer any student in any grade for the G/T program if they think they may be eligible.

The G/T program is available to both Empowered Learning At-Home students as well as those taking part in the Safety-First In-Person option.

To learn more about the assessment process and timeliness, and to ask any questions you might have about the G/T program, please take part in one of the webinars. See the attached flyers for details.

The Leader In Me Philosophy

#1 - Be Proactive: "Whether you think you can or can't...either way you're right."-Henry Ford

#2 - Begin With the End in Mind: Fitness is not a sprint; it's a marathon.

#3 - Put First Things First: Take care of yourself. Take breaks as you need to with small sips of water. Don't gulp.

#4 - Think Win-Win: A family that works out together, stays healthy together.

#5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood: Understanding the importance of fitness and overall health is half the battle. Action is the other half.

#6 - Synergize: Partner Style Workout

#7 - Sharpen the Saw: Eat a healthy dinner and soak in Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt.
