MES Book Fair
Our school is hosting a Follett Book Fair!
Supporting a love for reading is critical to student success. Supporting your school is just as important. The Follett Book Fair encourages your child's reading habits, builds their personal libraries and raises funds for the school, all at the same time.
What makes Follett Book Fairs different?
Follett has been supporting schools for more than 140 years which means you can expect an awesome selection of titles, from a wide range of publishers. These are the books your children want to read. See the attached flyer for some examples. Please note, prices do not include sales tax. Visit follettgift.com to purchase a Follett gift card for your child.
Book fair dates: Tuesday, April 30 – May 2
Book fair times: 8am – 3pm
Don’t forget to send your student with enough money to cover sales tax. Support your school and the avid readers in your family by visiting the book fair. We hope to see you there!
All sales benefit the school. Find out more about Follett Book Fairs online at follettbookfairs.com.
Celebrating the Earth the Month of May
Earth Month is coming courtesy of the Ecology andGarden Club
Millburn Elementary members will be celebrating the Earth during the month of
May. Each day will bring awareness of our surroundings and how we interact with
it. Ecology Club Members will help to bring you resources. We can have fun and
focus on a theme during this warmer time of year. Perhaps we may learn a thing or
two. Each Friday we will let you know the following week's activities.
May 1
Pick up Trash around the Schoolyard
Students can find and deposit debris from around our building inside and out. They
deposit it in trash bins arranged by entrances. Students may then sign a panel of paper
hung by the cafeteria to celebrate their help and participation in cleaning up our
neighborhood.
May 2
Hug a tree Selfie Day
Students find a tree as individuals or groups and take a selfie gently hugging the chosen
tree. Use your photo respectfully
May 3
Fun and Frightening Facts Friday
Every student receives a coupon in homeroom.

Double Lunches
It is important for parents to know what their child is eating and have control of those aspects. Therefore, if a child requests for a double lunch, parent permission must be allowed beforehand. This will be noted on the child's lunch ticket.
If you want to give permission for your child to receive double lunches, please email Sloan Knutsen (sknutsen@millburn24.net). To assure enough lunches are made, the student must inform their teacher of taking a double lunch when they do lunch counts each morning.
