Micro Elementary School Newsletter
September 22nd Edition
The small school where BIG things happen!
It was great to get back into the swing of things this past week. I saw several staff members reteaching routines and procedures, smart move!
Please check out the Brag Board we have added in our mailroom. Please give "shout-outs" to teammates as you witness their acts of awesomeness!
Each students counts. Every moment matters.
Thanks for all that you do!

Student Grant:
JCPS is offering 25 Student Innovator grants! This is the first time we have offered students funding for project/problem based learning implementation or just an idea that would impact the school or community. ANY Johnston County Public Schools student can apply. The deadline is September 28, 2018. Please share this flyer with your students.
Any attendee of Ignite can submit a proposal for one of 75 Teacher Pioneer Grants. The deadline has been extended to September 21, 2018. Please share this flyer with your staff.
Cafe Update: Staff we are doing our best to ensure that we do not have to use school funds to pay for student lunches. The office will call parents of children who do not have money each morning. We added an additional step. Each afternoon, Mrs. Twiggs will place a low balance report in your box for your class only. You can help out by checking with these students to see if they brought lunch or money. You can always send them to the office to call home.
Playground Update: Thank you for being patient regarding our playgrounds. The playground by the ballfield is good to go. Our K-2 playground is under repairs. A water line leaked underneath the spiderweb equipment. They temporarily removed the playground equipment to repair the line. Once the line is repaired, they will reinstall the spiderweb. We do not have a timetable but are hopeful it will not take too long. Thanks for your patience and understanding!
