District Info
Random Drug Search
- Last main campus began choosing classrooms at random to search for illegal substances using Sadie. Without getting into too much detail, the search will be carried out (at Woods Campus) by 2 SROs and 1 administrators and 1 counselor. However, you will also have a role to play through this process.
- An SRO and an administrator will enter your classroom, unannounced. The administrator will announce that their classroom was randomly selected to be searched and will tell all students to close their lids (if working on laptops) and to quickly and quietly go into the hallway. As students are leaving the room, we need the teacher to help monitor the students for any activities that might be suspicious (ex: a student is reaching into their bag). If you see something, have that student to stay in the classroom so we can have a conversation.
- Once all students of the students are in the hallway, the teacher will also go into the hallway, with the 2nd administrator. While in the hallway, the teacher and administrator will actively monitor students. Once the class is in the hallway, Officer Walther and Sadie will enter the classroom. The search typically only takes a few minutes.
- If Sadie hits on something, the teacher will be called in to identify the student's belongings and that student will be pulled out of class for a more extensive search.
- Please let me know if you have any questions.
