On January 6, 2020 during the Superintendent's Welcome Back Address, Mr. Vanoli presented the final plan for the District's Goals, Mission and Vision. Attached is also a video he shared with staff. Mr. Vanoli thanked the Monterey County Office of Education; especially Dr. Caryn Lewis for facilitating the process. The process was lengthy as it involved teachers, parents, students, community members and administrators of what a Soledad Unified School District Graduate will look like. It was emotional to have some of these students attend our PD and have their previous teachers stand up and be recognized. It's about Every Student...Every Day!

On December 4th Monterey County experienced a strong rain storm. Highway 101 was closed due to flooding. A couple of students in our After School Program at Frank Ledesma Elementary were stranded at school until 9:00pm. The parent was stuck in the traffic trying to return to town. Lead Teacher Forrest Griffin stayed with the students at school the entire time. He was a hero. When asked about it that night Mr. Griffin said, "That's what we do." Other ASP employees helped greatly. ASP group leader Lupe Aguillon stayed until about 7:30pm. Group Leaders Jessica Esquivel and Fatima Gonzalez left and returned with juice and snacks. Erin Ramirez, Special Projects & After School Program Coordinator, arrived later with Pizza which is known to make any situation better! Thank you to all for keeping the kids safe and secure.

The Board of Trustees too appreciated our employees' dedication and recognized them at their meeting on January 8, 2020. Thank you for thinking about Every Student...Every Day!
