Eligibility reports will be handed out this morning. Students who receive a slip need to talk with their teacher(s) to see what they are missing. The slip is due to the office bt 12:00 pm Sept. 26. Congratulations to Mrs. Wise and Mrs. Gregory’s Crew for winning the Senior Citizen Day. Mrs. Allee’s, Mr. Gregory’s and Mrs. Hoyt’s Crew were a close second. Today Mr. McCormick, Mrs. Speakman, and Ms. Paine will be coming around to scan your student ID to receive your points for dressing in Red and Black Day. Nice job to all the students who participated this week. Way to show your school spirit. Tonight there is a tailgate party at Grand Valley High School before the game. The game begins at 7:00 pm Grand Valley High School. Students make sure to bring your id to the game. If you have a silver sticker on your id, you will get in free. This means you have paid the fee to play sports or you have paid the activity fee. If you do not have a sticker, students can purchase an activity sticker for $20 from the office. Yesterday the GVMS Panther football team took a tough loss to Basalt. Good luck this weekend to the following teams: The U12 Girl’s Soccer Team plays two games this Saturday. The first game is against New Castle at 9:00 am. The second game is at 1:00 pm against Carbondale. Both games will be at home. The U14 Girl’s Soccer Team plays at home against Carbondale. Their game time is at 3:00 pm. The Parachute Piranhas Football Team (5th and 6th grade) and the U12 Boy’s Soccer Team both have a bye this weekend. The Panther Store is open today. Students, please bring your Panther Paws with you to lunch.
STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES: October 2nd and 3rd
Why This Practice Matters: BUILDING STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
When students are asked to play a leadership role in selecting and presenting work to share with their families, they begin to take greater pride in the quality of what they do. A “progress report” becomes not just something given to them, but is actually something students have a hand in creating.
Scheduling your student led conference:
The button above is the Grand Valley Middle School Student Led Conference (SLC) scheduling system. This year the first 20 minutes of your student's SLC will be with their CREW teacher. These meetings will begin every hour on the hour. Then there will be 40 minutes after the SLC conference to visit with classroom teachers if you wish. No need to schedule, just drop in.
