It is important because it shows where it takes place, and sometimes sets the mood.

Tells you who, what , when, where, and why in the story
Brainstorming Ideas
Brainstorming helps you choose an appropriate organizational strategy. With brainstorming you will know how to produce ideas, and to solve problems.
Point of View
The point of view is how the story is told. It can be told it first, second, or third person. They are all point of views.
Plot Structure
It follows this.
Revising and Editing
We all mess up, so need to do this. Go back in your story, and look for miss spelled words, wrong punctuation, or just any mistakes.
