An EPIC Experience in Humanity
This year GWA launched a middle school initiative called EPICs. This stands for Extension Projects Inspiring {Children, Change, Compassion, Creativity, Community, Collaboration}, and is an intentional way to extend learning beyond the traditional curriculum, while exposing middle school students to alternate projects that address community or global issues.
This past summer, all middle school students and teachers read Linda Sue Park’s "A Long Walk to Water" which tells the story of Salva Dut, a “lost boy” refugee born in Sudan in the 1980s. Salva’s story has inspired thousands of young people around the world through his nonprofit organization, Water for South Sudan...Read More.

Cross Country Races to the Top!
Bulldog runners led the pack once again at the Walton County Cross Country Championships last weekend! The meet took place at Loganville Christian Academy and was the final meet before state for the middle school girls and boys teams, and region for the varsity boys and girls teams. The middle school boys placed third with two top five runners– Sully Croker and Jake Stout, while the girls placed second with three top five runners--Mellie Fisher, Macy Campbell, and Taylor Jesel. Varsity boys placed fourth and varsity girls placed third. We certainly are proud of our cross country teams!
Volleyball Continues the Winning Streak
Varsity Volleyball dominated at Loganville Christian Academy’s Freedom Classic Playdate last weekend! They played four teams, scored 200 points, 40 of which were ACES, and never lost a set all day. Great job ladies!
Come out and cheer on the Lady Dawgs at home this Saturday! GWA is hosting the Varsity Regional Tournament here on campus, with the first match starting at 10:30 a.m. This tournament will determine whether we will travel, or if we will host the first round of the State Tournament.
Shooting for Winning Teams!
Attention middle schoolers--bring your skills to the court! Tryouts are coming up for all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Please note that all students MUST have a physical before the first day of tryouts.

Model UN Students Put Their Skills to the Test
George Walton Academy's mission is to provide challenging instruction, engaging experiences, and global perspectives designed to inspire lives of intellectual curiosity, integrity and purpose. Few activities come closer to meeting this objective than Model United Nations club.
As the name implies, Model United Nations is a simulation of the actual United Nations. School teams attend conferences to propose solutions to current issues facing the United Nations...Read More.

A Soup-er Lesson in Sharing
Lower school music teacher, Mrs. Debbie Dyer, assembles yet another dynamic production! First and second graders have been diligently rehearsing for the musical “Stone Soup,” which is based on a folk tale that is several hundred years old. The story reminds us that if we all share what little we have with others, everyone will have enough, and all will be blessed. The students have been working on the musical since August, and are excited to perform it for their family and friends on Thursday, Oct. 18.

This money is available to people from all walks of life. Financial aid can come from federal and state governments, colleges, and private organizations. Here are four quick things you need to know about financial aid...Read More.
