Interphase

Interphase, is the stage in which the cell spends most of its time. The cell is sitting there preparing for mitosis

Prophase

This is the first stage of mitosis. It separates the genetic material into two daughter cells.

Metaphase

The chromosomes are taken to the middle and lined up to prepare for separation

Anaphase

This is the stage the chromosomes are split into identical sisters and the chromatids move to the opposite sides of the cell.

Telephase

The sister chromatids reach opposite poles. The cell begins to split.

Cytokenesis

The process in which the cell splits into two daughter cells.
