THE WEEK AHEAD!

New Lego STEM Session Begins This Week!

Our newest Bricks 4 Kidz session, "Energy Is Everywhere," begins on February 26 and runs through April 1 after school on Wednesdays for grades K-6. The six week enrichment class is $60 per student. Energy is essential to almost everything we do, from the lights in our homes and classrooms to the gasoline that fuels our cars. Introduce your students to the world of energy in all its amazing forms. This unit explores many sources of energy from wind and solar power to biofuel and fossil fuel. Students will define terms like renewable, landfill, greenhouse effect and generator and build moving models of just some of the awesome ways we power our world. Sign up here!

Spring Soccer Signups

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26,

6:00 to 8:00 p.m., in Ext. Day

Forget winter, it's time to look forward to spring! The St. Ann/Lansing Soccer Club will be signing up members for the U8 (at least 1st Grade), U10, U12, and U14 teams. Registration is $90, plus $30 for a jersey (which players keep). New players should bring a copy of their birth certificate and all players need to bring a small picture for their ID cards (like a school photo). Questions may be directed to Jesse Terrazas at 708 257-9450.

How Will You Get Lucky at Casino Night?

Poker, craps, roulette, or blackjack? Raffle baskets? Auction prizes like vacation homes, sports tickets, or a ride to school on a firetruck for your kiddos? The Booze Cart? THE POT OF GOLD $15k JACKPOT? There are so many ways!

Thank you to our School Board members who blanketed the parking lot at pickup on Thursday with personal invitations to Casino Night! This fabulous party will directly benefit our school, so we need all of our parents to attend in support if they can. Plus, it will be so much fun!

Our next planning meeting is WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 7:00 p.m. in the PARISH OFFICE. Earn an hour for attending the meeting. Earn many more hours by donating, securing sponsorships, or volunteering at the event! Working a shift is a great way to meet new people or hang out with an old friend. Sign up here.

Event tickets are now on sale after Masses and in the Parish Office, and you received an order form in a past Thursday Envelope and from our parents in the parking lot. Tickets are selling rapidly, so you'd better act soon if you want to attend! They are $50 each and include dinner, open bar, and dancing, plus the cash casino gaming and so many other chances to win fun stuff. There will also be a prize for the class that has the highest percentage of parent and teacher participation (attending, donating, working, they all count).

Don't forget to ask your employer or other business contacts to sponsor our evening. Any parents who bring in at least $1,000 in sponsorships will have their entire volunteer credit fulfilled, just like that! Donor letters and sponsorship forms have been sent home, and extra copies or electronic versions are available for download on our website.

Last Chance for Practice PreK

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27,

6-7:00 p.m. in PRE-K

Do you or someone you know have a child who will be three years old by September 1? It's not too late for them to attend the remaining "Practice Preschool" sessions at St. Ann during the month of February to get a taste of what it will be like to go to school. We have two weeks left, and you are welcome to sign up for both of them! Attendees will have the opportunity to become familiar with the space and the teachers, and play and learn alongside current students. Register here: http://bit.ly/SASPracticePreschool

Stations of the Cross

FRIDAYS DURING LENT, 2:00 p.m.

All are invited to join the student body every week for Stations of the Cross in the Church beginning February 28. There will be no Stations on Friday, March 13, as we have early dismissal that day.

Chromebook Responsibility

It is your student's responsibility to make her sure his or her Chromebook is fully charged at the start of every school day. Please remind your students before bed.

Big picture

KEEP GATHERING & Sending in THOSE STRACKS RECEIPTS!

Collect Strack & VanTil Food Market register receipts dated between September 1, 2019 and March 2, 2020 to help St. Ann earn FREE educational rewards! Every classroom has a Collection Envelope, and we will be tallying the value of the receipts turned in. The class that brings in the most will win a prize! Our cutoff for receiving your receipts is March 6, as they have to be processed for submission that next week. We are doing great--please keep it up!
