Unity Day
We are excited to be celebrating Unity Day on Wednesday, October 20th. Unity Day occurs during National Bullying Prevention Month in October. As part of our schools mission to be inclusive of all students, we encourage everyone to wear Orange. We wear orange to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. The days prior to Unity day students will be discussing the No Place For Hate pledge and what that looks like in the classroom, on the playground, and at home/in the community.

Report Cards
Report cards will be published to Parent Portal on Tuesday October 26th after 2pm. Please note that you will need to view and print the report card if you want to keep a hard copy as FMSD no longer provides paper copies. This is a good idea for sports teams, student discounts etc. To view, find the icon on the left hand side called Student Reports. An archived report listing will appear and you can choose from there. Please use Parent Portal on a computer and not your phone app as many of these options are not user friendly on phones. If you do not already have a Parent Portal account, please email englandm@fortmillschools.org. If you have simply forgotten your password, use the login screen for that issue as our PowerSchool data manager does not have access to view your password.

Red Ribbon Week is Coming!
Red Ribbon week takes place every year at the end of October and was started in 1988 in honor of a DEA agent who worked to keep our country safe from drugs. The mission of Red Ribbon week is to help keep kids drug-free. While we don't teach our elementary students about specific drugs, we do use this week to encourage students to make healthy choices for their mind and body. We've created a spirit week to help remind students to make healthy choices.

SAVE THE DATE - Scholastic Book Fair
Starting October 20-27, students will have the opportunity to shop the book fair during school hours with their classroom. Book fairs are vital in helping us raise necessary funds to keep our school thriving, so your support is greatly appreciated
All Book Fair purchases will require an eWallet account to be set up prior to shopping. Also look for your teacher’s eWallet accounts and help build their classroom libraries by making a donation. Get started today setting up those eWallets at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/dobysbridgeelemschool
