Message from the Principal
Hello Lake Families,
Despite the rainy weather, it's been a fantastic week here at Lake as we celebrated our 100th day of school and witnessed some remarkable moments of learning and leadership. A special highlight of the week was Sarah Rombotis’ VUSD Star Award. This was the result of multiple nominations from our Lake staff, as Sarah’s positive impact on students and staff has been felt and appreciated by so many.
Another special highlight of the week was the Project-Based Learning tour led by our exceptional 5th-grade student leaders. Their passion, creativity, and communication left a lasting impression on our visitors and showcased the incredible opportunities at Lake. The group of 20 visitors was so impressed with our student leaders and thankful for the dedication of our teachers in implementing and sharing their projects so they could bring this information back to their schools and districts.
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our staff who graciously welcomed visitors into their classrooms, sharing their expertise and passion for teaching. Your dedication to our students' growth and success is seen daily, and truly commendable.
As we reflect on this week's accomplishments, let's continue celebrating the spirit of learning, collaboration, and leadership that defines our school community. Together, we are cultivating the creators of our future world and inspiring excellence and innovation in education.
Also. please join us as we celebrate Holly McManus during National School Counseling Week February 5-9th. National School Counseling Week 2024 (#NSCW24) focuses public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are directly impacted as a result of counselors' passion and dedication to the profession. Thank you, Holly, for all you do to support our students to meet their full academic, social, and behavioral potential!
Finally, we hope to see you all here on February 14th from 8:00-9:00 for PTA’s annual event, Lake Loves Reading. (See info below.)

(Ver información a continuación).

“Our deepest calling is to grow into our own authentic selfhood, whether or not it conforms to some image of who we ought to be. As we do so, we will not only find the joy that every human seeks — we will also find our path of authentic service in the world.”
