Daily Announcements, Thursday, December 3rd, B Day for Group 1
Written announcements:
2020 is a year that you will tell people “you had to be there” to remember. What better way to remember than a yearbook! Your advisory teacher has yearbook slips for you. You can order a yearbook online or bring the slip back to the office with cash or a check. Email Mr. Finton with questions, or if you have pictures that you want in the yearbook, email Mr. Finton! We are going to have a “Quaran-teen” section, so send in photos of yourself at home, on the bus with a mask, socially-distancing with friends, or any other ideas you have. His email is fintonc@fargoschools.org.
It is time to resume our preparations for this year’s 7th / 8th grade musical revue called “Face the Music”. This will be different than a normal musical show, but it will still be A LOT of fun. We will need both singing and non-singing actors, show hosts, and a few stagehands to help with this production. Our interest meetings will take place next week on the 9th and 10th of December. It will be located in the Hangar at 3:30PM after school lets out. There will be more information given at the meetings. Please come on the 9th if you are in the Red group, and the 10th if you are in the Yellow group. Virtual academy students who are interested should attend the meeting for the group they would be in based on their last name. If you are unable to attend the interest meetings you must reach out to Mr. Nielsen by email.
This week’s highlighted genre for the Pop Open a Good Book reading program is REALISTIC FICTION. Realistic fiction is a genre consisting of stories that could have actually occurred to people or animals in a believable setting. These stories resemble real life, and the fictional characters within these stories react similarly to real people. Some of the plots that may be highlighted are friendships, growing up, death & dying, family, social life, falling in love etc. A few of Mrs. Weiler’s favorite realistic fiction novels are Front Desk, Orbiting Jupiter, and Dear Martin. Please take some time to look in that section to find the perfect book.
First FCA meeting will be tomorrow via Zoom. Email Mr. Rudie for the Zoom code if you would like to attend.
