Buckhorn High School is among the Washington Post's 'America's Most Challenging High Schools'
For the third consecutive year, Buckhorn High School made the list! Ranked the eighth most challenging school in Alabama, Buckhorn was one of only three North Alabama schools recognized. The other two schools were James Clemens (3rd) and Bob Jones (9th).
The index identified 2,335 top public and private schools - those that gave at least as many college-level tests in 2014 as they had graduates. It is intended to highlight schools that excel in persuading average students to take college-level courses and tests. The more Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school, in proportion to graduating seniors, the higher the score.
The schools on the Post list represent 11 percent of U.S. public schools and the eleven Alabama schools represent the top 3 percent of Alabama public schools. Click here to see the complete list of Alabama schools who made the list.
Congratulations to Principal, Todd Markham and the Buckhorn High School faculty for being recognized for their continued commitment to excellence! #BuckPride
