Meet your school counselors
Professional school counselors strive to meet the needs of all students within the school community. We use a variety of methods including classroom guidance, small group meetings, and individualized student counseling to promote the cognitive, career, and personal/social development of all students. Our programs are based on a wide array of school data including academic achievement, discipline referrals, attendance rates, parent involvement, climate surveys, and identified student, staff, and parent needs.
Please feel free to call or email anytime with questions or concerns. We look forward to working with you!

Classroom guidance starts August 31
Classroom guidance lessons will begin the week of August 31 for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. This month's lesson introduces students to the school counseling program, and to their assigned counselor. Students will also be given the opportunity to complete a needs assessment to identify student needs and topics of interest for future lessons.
HMS launches Power of One Program
The school counseling department is excited to announce the launch of a new program entitled "The Power of One". The purpose of this program is to teach empathy and compassion for others, to fight against bullying and prejudice, and to empower students to find their voice and stand up for what is right. The program will be delivered through weekly lessons taught during Lion Pride. We will also be hosting a poster contest, poetry contest, t-shirt design contest, and much more!
