The extraction of DNA in biotechnology is crucial in plenty of modern day experiments and situations. From a small sample of DNA, you can know whether or not a fetus in the womb can contract a fatal disease, or find out who the killer is in a deadly crime scene.

In DNA testing, biotechnology really has a good purpose, as shown on crops. With a small sample of DNA from a crop, the possibilities are endless! Biotechnology can make this plant be able to withstand extremely cold or hot weather, no matter what the season.

North Carolina ranks #4 in the U.S for the number of biotech companies at 87. Although, California is #1 out of all, with 410 industries. Massachusetts and Maryland also top the charts.

Toxic chemicals have gotten dumped on our environment, but there has been a growing amount recently. Biotechnology can change that. With biotechnology, it can help environmental clean up an enormous amount by neutralizing the toxicity in this waste.

Also, large biotech companies commonly despised of, like Monsanto, are said to take advantage of the average U.S citizen. They use a plentiful supply of GMO, a harmful pesticide used on plants we eat on a daily basis. This can have deadly consequences on the human body.
