Happy Fall Y'all!
I just looked back at my statistics from September and we had 4,514 checkouts last month! Wow! I don't think I have ever had as good a month as that. After the book fair I will post that number in my window and ask you all (students and staff) to try and beat that number. I would love to see our checkouts increase and everyone enjoying some great books.
Please read through this at your leisure and let me know if you have any questions!

Teacher Wish List
Please come to the library Wednesday after the faculty meeting to help set up and create your wish list for your classroom. If you can't stop by Wednesday, please stop by anytime Thursday as well. Parents do look at these wish lists and purchase books to give back to your classroom.
Jeans Day is back!
Want to wear jeans twice next week?
Want to help out students who may not be able to buy a book from the book fair?
Donate $5 to wear jeans on Monday, October 10th and the proceeds will be used to create gift certificates for students to buy a book that is $5.00 or less. I will be collecting money until the end of the day Monday.
Homeroom teachers, please send me names of students who may not have funds to purchase a book and I will send a gift certificate to your homeroom for that student by the beginning of the day on Tuesday. They will be able to visit the book fair Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to purchase their book at your discretion.
Please look for an email from me about additional details of your class visit to the book fair. Except for PowerTeam meeting days, you are welcome to stay with your class and visit as well. :-)
Professional Collection
Please stop by and see what we have. If you don't see something there that you feel is needed, send me the information and I will purchase it as long as I have money in my budget.
Upcoming lessons for all grade levels
4th grade - We will continue our look at the Dewey Decimal System (Nonfiction) and locate books on the shelves using the call number. As long as everyone has completed their Infosnap we will begin using laptops to look for books on Destiny (online catalog).
5th grade - We will continue to use our tablets in library to look for books using the online catalog. We are also going to begin a mini lesson on Internet Safety and review behavior online.
