Main Character

The main character is an 17 about to turn 18 year old girl named Magdalena Haloway. She goes by the nickname "Lena." She has brown hair and brown eyes. At first, she always follows the rules and does what she is told. Later on in the book, she throws that old personality away and becomes a girl who does what she wants by breaking the rules and lying all the time.

Main Characters

Main Problem

This story takes place in a society that thinks love is a sickness and that love can make you crazy and make you do crazy things. That love can even kill you. That's what happened to Lena's mom. She was so stricken with love, that she killed herself. For almost her whole life, Lena has believed this. Until she meets the mysterious Alex. Lena is intrigued by his ways of life. With no warning, Lena starts to feel the effects of Deliria Nervosa. (The disease of falling in love.) Is she really falling in love with Alex? They meet regularly and do pretty much every thing they aren't supposed to do. But how can they live in a society were love is forbidden?

Action

Lena and Alex are falling in love. They meet regularly and breaking the biggest rule in the society. Love. They aren't supposed to fall in love. They often meet at a beach called Black Cove. One day, they are there splashing in the water and having fun, when Alex tells her a secret. The secret alone makes Lena stop seeing him. Then Lena realizes something, she needs Alex. They get back together and that's when it hits Lena. Her treatment of getting cured for Deliria Nervosa is in a couple of weeks. Once she gets cured, she won't ever fall in love again, and she won't remember Alex. What will she do?

Favorite Part

My favorite part of the book is when Alex and Lena come up with a Plan to run away. They plan to run away right before Lena's treatment, so they can get away. Suddenly the impossible happens. They get caught.

Recommendation

I highly recommend this book. it has love that will tug at your heartstrings, and it has action that will make you want to keep on reading.

Will Lena and Alex finally get the love that they deserve?
