Glow Dance-A-Thon Fundraiser

To celebrate, all students will dance, dance, dance on September 13....don't forget to have them wear neon or light colors so that they will glow under the dance lights.
We hope you can sponsor one of our awesome students and support our school!
Little Free Library
You may have seen one of our newest additions outside of Blue Ash Elementary. And in case you haven’t, you will want to check it out. On the side of the building, between the second and fourth grade wings, there is now a Little Free Library. Mrs. Taryn Wagenfeld, Reading Intervention Teacher, applied to the PTO for a Teacher Grant last year, and the amazing PTO funded this project. In case you have not encountered a Little Free Library before, they are small lending libraries that are springing up around the country. They look like mailboxes but are stuffed with books that are meant to be shared with the community. Our library is strictly offering books for children.
Some Little Free Libraries come finished while others come unfinished and allow for personalization. So that is just what we did. With the help of our talented art teacher, Miss Gina Bush, these two teachers decorated the exterior of the library with characters from some of the best books out there. It is a colorful and fun sight that you will definitely want to stop by and check out.
Here is how this works. Swing by the Little Free Library. There is a picnic table and a bike rack nearby so feel free to make it an outing with your child and enjoy some sunshine and a book or two. The goal is to have a rotating library...so you leave a book and take a book every time. Be sure to sign the guest book so we know you stopped by for a visit.
If you are interested in donating some books that your family no longer needs, be sure they are family friendly and gently used. You can contact Taryn Wagenfeld via email at wagenfeldt@sycamoreschools.org to make arrangements for a drop off. We do hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to stop by and exchange a book or two and help us share the love of literacy with your Blue Ash Student(s).

REGISTER TODAY FOR SPANISH!!!
LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE
Deadline to enroll: Friday, September 13th
¡Hola! Spanish at Blue Ash is back for the 2019-2020 school year! The Before-School Spanish Enrichment Program taught by Cincinnati Spanish Academy (CSA) invites all students grades 1-4 to participate!
The aim of this program is to promote the acquisition of the Spanish language using the “natural language method” in a small class setting (max 14 students/class) throughout the school year. The program promotes academic learning through a fun and engaging environment; songs, games and age appropriate activities. Kids new to the program will be begin their journey of learning Spanish, and returning students will pick up where they left off!
Program: Wednesdays from 8:15 to 9:05am; 25 weeks starting September 25th
Foreign language skills are truly a passport to the world, helping students to develop skills for their future. Learning a language also enhances test scores, improves self-esteem, and exposes learners to different cultures; teaching them to be more tolerant and respectful towards others. On top of that, learning Spanish is FUN!
Interested? Registration details and payment plan are available on-line at www.cincinnatispanishschool.com/BA
Deadline to enroll: Friday September 13th
Note: The language program is a service hosted through the PTO as a before-school enrichment course. Questions? Contact CSA at registration@cincinnatispanishacademy.com, or 513-602-6100.
