Thornhill Elementary PFC Newsletter
Volume 26, Issue 14, November 6, 2018
From the PFC President
How are your kid's feet doing? Or should I ask how are your feet doing?
The Walkathon is one of our biggest and most sociable fundraising activities of the year, and with all that turkey trotting done, I think all of you should be proud of what you accomplished. And be sure to say a word of thanks to Carmen Childs and the other volunteers who valiantly stepped up to organize and oversee the Walkathon this year. It's this kind of dedication that builds the Thornhill community, and you should all be recognized for all the steps you took on Saturday.
Reward yourself by taking this Friday night off! Drop your kids off at Thornhill for the Dads Club Movie Night where they will watch Early Man. Details and ticket info here!
Now, if you haven't already, give yourself an old-school epsom salt foot bath. You certainly deserve it.
Mahalo,
Rex Crum

Walkathon Recap!
It was great to see so many of you at the Walkathon on Saturday! One of the best things about the Walkathon is that it highlights the strong community that we are lucky to have at Thornhill. Please extend a giant Thunderbird Thank You to everyone who made the day a success—parent volunteers, alumni walkers, teacher participants and of course all of the students with their exceptional fundraising efforts. Special thanks to the Green Team, Dads Club, DJ Noah, Host a Party Team, Spirit Wear Team, Book Swap, Lost & Found, 4th grade Bake Sale Team (they raised $1160!), and whatever else we missed!
So far we've raised over $19K!
A few housekeeping items:
Fundraising deadline: The Walkathon is over but you still have time to raise more money—you have until November 28 to make those donations count toward the fundraising prizes!
Lap cards: If you find your walker’s lap card in the laundry pile or under the bed, please put it into the Walkathon box in the office—we want to count all the laps to see which class walked the farthest.
Thanks again to everyone for a great day!
Your 2018 ‘Turkey Trot’ Walkathon committee
