NEWS FROM THE HEADS
January is a time for looking forward and making plans. On Thursday we invited parents of Year 10, Girls and Boys to attend a presentation at College Avenue entitled “Beyond GCSE - The Post 16 Landscape”. Parents heard about the complex and diverse pathways that are available to young people after they finish their GCSEs.

This week has been another busy week for Junior Girls. Year 1 & 5 took a trip to Junior Boys to experience the Learning Dome and learn about the stars and planets; Year 1 also went on their annual House Walk to learn about the different features of houses; whilst Reception made Jam Tarts and tried to keep the Knave of Hearts from stealing them!

The theme “fossils and bones” has been a great start to our “dinosaurs” topic this term in the nursery rooms. A variety of activities happened such as creating prints of fossils with paint and in clay, and making both large and small scale pictures of dinosaur skeletons. The children have looked at pictures of dinosaurs on the iPads and in books, have listened to related stories and pretended to move like them using the “Dinosaur Stomp” song.

JUNIOR GIRLS STOCK-MARKET
YEAR 6 TAKE ON THE STOCK-MARKET!
There are turbulent times in the financial market this year and trading profits are slim!!!
Here is the information for the Stock Market exercise for this year.
First place: Georgia Fewkes with a profit on the week of £3402.20. (WOW!) She recommends investing in Premier Vet in the Pharmaceuticals sector.
Second place: Kumika Nakai with a profit on the week of £256.82. She recommends investing in Jardin Matheson in the Engineering and Industrial sector.
Third place: Oluwanifemi Oladoyinbo with a loss on the week of £4.18. She recommends investing in W.H. Smiths in the Retail sector. They rose from £15.94 a share to £17.11 a share.
HOLIDAY CLUB
Holiday Activities
Holiday Club have a fantastic journey ahead with a 'World of Animals' week this coming holiday… from pets and farm animals to birds and reptiles of the amazon. They’ll be plenty of themed activities, fun facts, crafts and challenges, as well as specialised activities for older children. Join us from Mon 15 to Fri 19 Feb at the Junior/Senior Girls site from 9am to 4pm with options to extend from 8am to 6pm and book a hot lunch!
Sports Club are also delivering three days of Multi-Sports from Tue 16 to Thu 18 Feb… using the fantastic facilities at the Junior Boy site there’s plenty for all abilities to choose from.
