New Sidewalk Games
Since returning from break, it's been fun watching everyone enjoy the new games. We've noticed that they're doing a fantastic job of establishing the rules and picking up all of the materials when they're finished.
Additionally, last year's fourth graders told us that we need to structure games on the field within parameters so that the football games do not take up the entire field. We purchased cones so the football players can contain their games, allowing room for other activities to take place.
We are grateful to the students who helped us come up with ideas for improving recess and for the staff members who gave up to three days of their break to make this happen. It's been such a success, you may continue to see new games pop up on the sidewalks around campus!
Annual Thanksgiving Feast
2nd Grade Fry Bread Fun
During the week before break the second grade classrooms learned about the events that led to the first Thanksgiving and then celebrated this festive time by making Indian Fry Bread in their classrooms. The students all had a great time mixing science, math, and FUN! Who knew learning could be so messy?

Norterra Canyon Staff Wish Tree
Let’s celebrate our hard working Norterra Canyon Staff by making a holiday wish come true! Starting November 27th, there will be a Wish Tree in the front office with wishes from our teachers and staff. Stop by and grab a wish to fulfill for one or more of our great staff members this holiday season!
You can fill a wish for your child’s teacher or any one of our amazing people that work to make a difference at our school every day like the facilities, front office, Pirate’s Cove, cafeteria staff and more! You can even grab a random staff member who still needs a wish fulfilled. Each staff member has 3 wishes to put on the tree! Please be sure to sign the log located by the tree to document who's wish you are going to fill.

Tax Credit for Norterra Canyon!!
Impact the Lives of DVUSD Students
You Choose the School!
Your school tax credit donations can provide DVUSD students with opportunities to after school and summer programs, field trips, music and athletic programs or any other extracurricular activity.
The Arizona tax credit program (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) allows a tax credit of up to $200 for individuals and up to $400 for married couples, filing jointly, in support of extracurricular activities.
The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar. It also reduces your taxable income to the federal government, usually by 1/3 of your donation.
