Welcome to the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary & St Matthew
A woman who had been caught in adultery is dragged before Jesus. The penalty for her sin is that she be stoned to death. As Jesus sees the woman dragged to him, he probably cannot help but think that soon this same crowd would be dragging him.
Pope Francis Monthly Intention: Health Care Workers
We pray for health care workers who serve the sick and the elderly, especially in the poorest countries; may they be adequately supported by governments and local communities.
Farewell and Thank You Brigid
It is with regret that we are parting ways with Brigid Conroy as she leaves our Chanel Centre family.
Brigid has been a valuable member of our Pastoral Services Team for our Hamilton Diocese, for three years, as the Diocesan Media and Events Coordinator, and as the Editor-in-Chief of Kete Kōrero. She has also been involved in the Marriage Preparation and Catholic Family Life ministries. She was also instrumental in introducing the Divine Renovation movement, as much as the March For Life plus Family Weekends annually, which were largely credited to her. She already laid the preparatory plans for our Te Ara a Maria - Mary’s Way in Hamilton. There are other countless ideas which Brigid set especially during Covid lockdowns and we can only cherish them, that many be inspired in those Catholic events and make a difference in their communities.
We wish our Brigid Conroy, a kind and gentle colleague the very best as she moves to a new chapter of her professional life. Haere ra ma te Atua koe e manaaki e tiaki I Nga wa katoa. Our Chanel office will remain open for you.

We pray for the Ukraine...
Holy and Gracious God
We pray for the people of the Ukraine, for their country and their leader.
We pray for all those who are afraid; that your everlasting arms hold them in this time of great fear.
We pray for all those who have the power over life and death; that they will choose for all people life, and life in all its fullness.
We pray for those who choose war; that they will remember that you direct your people to turn our swords into ploughshares and seek for peace.
We pray for leaders on the world stage; that they are inspired by the wisdom and courage of Christ.
Above all, Lord, today we pray for peace in Ukraine.
And we ask this in the name of your blessed Son.
Lord have mercy.
Amen
