From the Principal
What a fantastic athletics day we had on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see all the students taking part and trying their very best. Over the day we had 23 records broken by our students which is an amazing effort. The students have spent many weeks preparing for this event and the training has obviously paid off. A big thank you must go to Dianne Davidson for organising the day and programme. Fifty five students will now head off to the Western Athletics event to be held at Takitimu School next Thursday, 27 October.
It has been pleasing to see our percentage of students attending school regularly has been moving upwards over the past term. We now have around 70% of our school who are attending regularly - 90% or more of the time. We set a goal at the beginning of the year to have 82% of our students attending regularly so we will continue to work hard to increase our current percentage.
Over the past term the school has put in some programmes and interventions to support regular attendance. It has been pleasing to see that for the majority who were identified attendance rates have continued to improve throughout Term 3 - great work everyone.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to Dianne for all of her work around the organisation of this day. Thank you to all the parents that helped on the day as well as FOS for cooking the barbeque. Also a huge well done to all the athletes competing on Wednesday. This year will be the most successful day in terms of the amount of students competing, so well done.
