From the Principal

Kia ora koutou,

What a fantastic athletics day we had on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see all the students taking part and trying their very best. Over the day we had 23 records broken by our students which is an amazing effort. The students have spent many weeks preparing for this event and the training has obviously paid off. A big thank you must go to Dianne Davidson for organising the day and programme. Fifty five students will now head off to the Western Athletics event to be held at Takitimu School next Thursday, 27 October.

Regular Attendance

It has been pleasing to see our percentage of students attending school regularly has been moving upwards over the past term. We now have around 70% of our school who are attending regularly - 90% or more of the time. We set a goal at the beginning of the year to have 82% of our students attending regularly so we will continue to work hard to increase our current percentage.

Over the past term the school has put in some programmes and interventions to support regular attendance. It has been pleasing to see that for the majority who were identified attendance rates have continued to improve throughout Term 3 - great work everyone.

We are raising funds towards the cost for our Year 7 students to attend Leadership Courses. Funds raised will go into a kitty towards covering the cost of the entry fees, transport and activities. In the past students/whanau have made a real effort to fundraise to ensure we can book rich leadership course experiences for current and future students.
