Important Notes
Silent Auction: Thank you so much to all who participated in our silent auction at our Fall Family Night. The lucky recipients won front row seating and premier parking for our Christmas program! We were able to raise $410 dollars for PTO, which will directly support student activities at Thorntown!
Winter Sports: Any 5th or 6th grader wishing to participate in winter sports should be registered in Final Forms and have a current physical on file.
Christmas Program Details: As you know, the TES Christmas Show is the hottest show in town! We draw record crowds and are at max capacity for this event. Because of this, we have had to look at our safety plan for dismissal. Below are the details of our show. Thank you in advance for respecting these guidelines and helping this be an nice event for everyone. This year our students will perform from their seats around the gym, as we did last year. More details about layout will be coming soon, so you can select your seats with this in mind. There will be special performances on the stage. PreK will perform first and then exit to the art room. Following that, grades K-2 will perform and then exit to their classrooms. After grades 3-6 finish their segment, we ask that one parent go to the classrooms to sign students out. Other fans and family members may wait in the gym or the lobby. This will keep the congestion down in the hallway, so we have a safe or more orderly dismissal. We make every effort to keep our program short, while still showcasing all of our students. We ask that you please stay for the entire program. If you must leave after your child performs, please do so at a transition and adhere to the sign out process above. Once you leave the gym, we ask that you do not return as this can be disruptive to the other performances. All of our students will have an opportunity to see the program in its entirety during our dress rehearsal, so assure them they will get to experience the whole show. Thank you for your understanding and your help!
AR Reward: On 12/20, students who have met their semester AR goal will be invited to participate in our AR reward. There will be bounce houses and play in the gym. Encourage your child to keep reading!
Jewelry Design Contest: Ellis Jewelers is holding their annual Jewelry Design Contest again. A truly beautiful piece of jewelry combines nature's most splendid handiwork with vision and artistic creativity. You are invited to become the designer. There are 3 age groups: Grade 3-5, Grade 6-8, and Grade 9-12. Cash prizes will be awarded and 1st place winners will have their design made into a piece of jewelry the design gets to keep! Entry deadline is 1/31/20. Forms for the contest are available in our school office.
