Week 1: August 24-28, 2020
We are excited to welcome back our students for the 2020-2021 school year! This year Allen Elementary is celebrating our 60th anniversary with a '60s theme. I am sure that 60 years ago no one could imagine starting a school year completely virtually! Our staff has been working hard to prepare for the first day of virtual learning on Monday, August 24th and we ask for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through this new way of teaching and through the use of Schoology.
In preparation for the first day of school next week, I want to make sure you and your child know exactly what to do on Monday morning. You will find some very good resources on our District website (https://www.nisd.net/) that walk you through the first day including a checklist for a successful first day of school and information videos for both elementary and secondary levels. If you run in to any issues on Monday with Schoology or the technology, do not hesitate to call the school and we will assist you to the best of our abilities. If we are not able to help you, we will be sure to point you in the right direction.
Be well, and we look forward to a "groovy" year of learning!
Class Lists Subject to Change
Your classroom teachers are excited to get to know their new students and build relationships. We want parents to know that as we transition from virtual to in person learning there is a possibility that class assignments may change and that your child may not keep the same classroom teacher. We will do our best to keep your child with the same teacher, but the safety and health of our students and staff remains at the top of our priority list. Any potential class changes will be communicated to parents. We thank you for your support and understanding.
