Lincoln Bulletin-
This week was another wonderful week, a bit hot outside so please make sure your son or daughter is dressing appropriately for the weather, and please send them with a water bottle, these are able to be refilled throughout the day using our drinking fountains.
This past Tuesday, I shared our teacher's videos, this was our virtual curriculum night, but we know that it is not a substitute for our parents being able to come into our buildings and meet our classroom teachers, support staff, and all the people that interact with your kids on a daily basis. For this reason, we are planning to invite small groups of classroom parents to the school to visit the room, school, and meet the teacher. This would be a meet and greet and will be informal. In mid-September, we are planning a way for you to come in to see the great things that are going on in the class, how the classroom is set up, and what the classroom and school environment looks like. Information will be coming soon once the details are determined. If you didn't have a chance to view videos, they are still live and linked in the newsletter shared Tuesday.
In addition, as I visit classrooms and walk through the building I take photos and plan to share them in our bulletin. Some highlights from this week that you will see in this edition are photos of our band students having the opportunity to play outside. Our first-grade music class singing with Ms. Molidor, photos from our ice cream social last Wednesday. I even included a photo of me, sporting a paper hat made by our 2nd grader Jack Simon. Thank you Jack.
Next week we say farewell to Ms. Vincent our ART/EMPOWER long-term sub and we will welcome Ms. Watts back to Lincoln. We also welcome a new teaching assistant Ms. Martin. In future editions of our bulletin we will include a segment introducing new staff members.
As we wrap up the month of August we will culminate our initial SEL theme of the community but also know that this is part of our mission that is carried throughout the year. Our next schoolwide SEL theme is the Power of Yet, building a growth mindset. Above is a visual that highlights this and it would be great if we could carry this across home and school, always encourage your child to try new things and know that practice helps us to get better at some things.
