The Skipper Scoop

Week of October 1st

SKIPPER NATION

I cannot believe it is October already. October means Homecoming is here! This Friday night the Homecoming court will be honored at the home game against Kirtland. The Homecoming dance is the following night at the VFW. Homecoming is such a special time in this community. This annual celebration brings lots of laughs and fond memories to us all.

Harding is continuing to do great things. Feel free to visit the school or call me with questions. We are all in this together for the sake of our amazing kids.

I wish you a good week,

Mrs. Rumbarger

Volleyball News You Can Use...

The FHS varsity volleyball team is one talented and strong group pf young women. They made it to the Championship Round in the tournament and finished 2nd against a very tough Beachwood team. These Skippers make us all so proud. Thank you to Mike Fitzgerald for his countless hours dedicated to the girls, as well as the parents who support this team so fiercely. SKIPPER POWER!

Coach Fitzgerald also took the team out to Hospice of Western Reserve for some volunteer time. What a proud principal moment. Thanks ladies for your kindness and dedication to this community.

AND....congrats Hannah Babbit on being named CVC athlete of the week! WOOHOO!

Positive Coaching Alliance

Last Wednesday about 20 of our student athletes attended the Positive Coaching Alliance workshop at Beachwood High School. There were 400+ student athlete-leaders who attend schools throughout the Chagrin Valley Conferences. The purpose of the workshop is to inspire our athletes to become a better leader.

Spreading Happiness

The Happy Spreaders group is back in full force this year. This group of girls never fails to impress their school community. The girls made crafts and locker signs last year and gave all the profits to the Humane Society. They won the Lake County Biz Kids 2018 award last May. They threw out the first pitch at the Captains game this past summer and even had business cards made. I will keep you posted with their next fundraiser.
