Union Chapel Gator Gab

October 2015

Union Chapel receives the 2014 Energy Star Award!

Buildings that earn EPA’s ENERGY STAR use 35 percent less energy and generate 30 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than similar buildings across the nation. Union Chapel was one of several PHSD schools to receive Energy Star recognition. Not only are we saving taxpayer dollars through efficient utility use, we're helping the environment, too. Win-win!

Music instruments purchased from the funds received from the Read-A-Thon

Two xylophones (instruments made of wooden bars), two metallophones (barred instruments made of metal), and three glockenspiels (tiny metal bars), were purchased for the students of Union Chapel from read-a-thon funds our students raised last spring.

Each day students come to music, they sing, dance, and play instruments. There are enough Orff instruments (xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, and tubano drums) for every student! Students have been trained since kindergarten (or whenever their career at Union Chapel started) to respect the instruments, which will help them last for years to come. We are so EXCITED to add these instruments. Thank you for your generosity!
