The BEARistas
We are excited to announce that we will be starting a Coffee Service in room 15! The Boyertown BEARistas will be open for business starting this Friday! The purpose of this service will be to work with my students on both academic and functional job skills. We hope you will support us on our new journey. Please check out the details below.
What: We will be selling coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Each cup will cost $1.00. We will have some creamers and sweeteners available. You can place your order through the use of a google form. See the link below.
When: We will be selling hot beverages every Friday. We will offer a morning delivery as well as an afternoon delivery. Morning delivery orders will need to be placed by Friday morning at the conclusion of homeroom (7:45 am). Afternoon delivery orders will need to be placed by noon. You can select the period they would like their beverage delivered. You can choose to have your beverage delivered during 1st, 2nd, 8th or 9th period. Orders will be prepared and delivered by the students.
How:
Hot beverages will cost $1.00 per cup. You can pay in cash at the time of delivery or you can pay through the use of a “Coffee club card”. A coffee club card can be purchased for ten dollars. The card will provide you with 10 cups of coffee. As a cup of coffee is purchased, our students will mark off the purchase on the card. After 10 cups of coffee are purchased, the coffee club card owner would earn one free cup of coffee! Money earned during this process will go towards funding the supplies, providing students with “payment” for their work in the form of preferred activities and donations to charities.
As our business grows, we are hoping to be able to provide a broader range of beverage options and perhaps baked goods! We are very excited about the potential opportunities for our students and look forward to getting things started.
Please let Danielle Bender know if you have any questions.
Spread the Sparkle
As previously mentioned, we are going to continue to "spread the sparkle" through the long winter months. Please remember to complete the Invisible Kid activity that Dave shared at the faculty meeting. Spirit Club will also be rolling out a spirit week for the week of February 25. On Friday, March 1, we will be celebrating Spread the Sparkle Day. Please consider ordering a shirt to wear on this day. Proceeds from shirt sales will benefit Out of the Darkness, an organization that works to prevent suicide, in memory of former West student, Devin Spence.
Here is the link to the online store for shirt sales: https://www.shop.bobhilbert.com/category.sc?categoryId=77 Short-sleeve tees are $12 and long-sleeve tees are $16. The online store closes on February 17.
