A Message from the Counselor (3rd-5th)
I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with the 3rd-5th grade students! I love preparing children for success at school. Being a successful learner means many things outside of the traditional academic subjects which we will explore through out the year. Before working at GCA, I worked as an Elementary and Middle School Counselor for 5 years! I hold dual Masters’ degrees in Organizational Management from Ashford University and School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University. It is my sincerest goal to help students become successful and productive individuals in society. I am so excited to work with you. See you in class!

National Fire Prevention Week October 6th - 12th
Since 1922, the NFPA has sponsored the public observance of Fire Prevention Week. In 1925, President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week a national observance, making it the longest-running public health observance in our country. During Fire Prevention Week, children, adults, and teachers learn how to stay safe in case of a fire. Firefighters provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically decrease casualties caused by fires. I am very proud of him for always showing initiative in class.

Khloe T. Recommended by: Taylor Barry
Student is new to GCA. She did not receive her computer until three weeks into school. First day she was asking question. She went into a BOR with me and was able to screen share. She was so on top of it! She wasn't scared to jump right in and try.

Alana B. Recommended by: Shannon Spath
Alana has taken the initiative to complete her assignments and assessments despite not having her GCA computer. She always has a positive attitude and a great spirit and makes sure she makes things work, despite any obstacles.
Mason L. Recommended by: Rachel Robertson
Mason has not received his GCA laptop. He does not have a working camera on his computer and has been unable to complete his testing. Each testing session Mason always pops in, says hello, and lets me know that he will take the test as soon as he has a working camera. He completes all of his assignments and has a wonderful attitude. He is a joy to have in my class.
Tony C. Recommended by: Amy Thurmond

If your name is not listed here, be encouraged and keep trying! You're wonderful too!
