Tornado Forecast of Upcoming Events
October 2nd: Late start for students.
- School begins for students at 8:30 am.
- Student transportation will operate under normal timelines.
- Students who arrive before 8:20, will be required to stay in the cafeteria, the main lobby, or the library to work on class assignments quietly.
October 4th: National Honor Society October Meeting at 7:20 am in the Auditorium.
October 6th: Hall of Fame Induction and Pumpkin Bowl at Historic Goodrich Field
October 9th: Late start with Advisory for students.
October 12th: STEAM Information Night (Makerspace and library - 6:30pm - 8:00pm).
October 16th: Picture Retake Day
October 18th-20th: No school for students - Staff Development and MEA
October 23rd: Late start for students.

Application Window for Trimester 2 Online Classes
The Anoka Hennepin Online Learning Program's application will open on October 1 and close on November 17. Any student/family that would like to start taking online classes during Trimester 2 must apply during the open window. Students currently taking online classes Trimester 1 do not need to re-apply. All classes will be asynchronous (with no Google Meets). Students will still be able to choose part-time or full-time.
Please note that filling out the 2023-24 Anoka-Hennepin Online Classes Application (grades 9-12) does not guarantee enrollment into the Anoka Hennepin Online Learning Program. Parents/Guardians will be notified if more information is needed. This form MUST be filled out by a parent or guardian.
Enrollment is based on courses offered and space available. Once your request is received, you will receive a Parent Permission form that will need to be signed and returned to the online program before registering for online classes.
Student-Designed Ninja Obstacle Now Featured at Ninjas United!
STEAM junior Gavin Langaard won a Ninja Obstacle Design Competition that was held last year during STEAM 10th grade's Ninja Engineering and Course Design Day. His winning obstacle - 'The Propeller' - was selected for creation by gym members at Ninjas United in Maple Grove, and was recently built and put to use by them.
AHS Swim Team is making a splash in the classroom as well as the pool!
Section 7AA Recognition Spotlight: Nora Sloth

Two things coaches love to see in their swimmers it effort and attitude. Talent will only take you so far and in swimming. The ability to put in the work and have the right mindset are cornerstones to success. Anoka junior Nora Sloth is a leader in both.
Her coaches said “Nora gives her absolute best at every practice; she is very determined and hardworking. In addition, she always has a positive attitude and is a team player. Our team is better because of her! “. Work ethic, attitude, and leadership.
Nora has grown up in a team environment so to speak. She is one of nine kids! Nora said “I have always valued family. The Anoka Girls Swim & Dive team is a family I have and will forever cherish”.
Minnesota Swim and Vibe gives you a Vibe seal of approval for bringing it everyday with a great attitude and for being a role model for your swim and dive family!

Lighthouse is a free after school tutoring program available to all students at Anoka High School.
Tutor's from just about all subject areas are available to assist.
When: Monday and Wednesdays 2:30-4:30pm
Where: SC171 (9th grade science wing)
Students can ride their activity bus home @ 4:30pm

The Anoka Alpine Fall Clothing Drive for the Epilepsy Foundation is happening on Saturday, September 30th, from 8 a.m. to noon as part of the Anoka Fall Recycling Event at 501 Pierce Street.

2023-24 Yearbook!
This is the last week to purchase the 2023-24 Yearbook at its lowest price of $81. The Yearbook staff is already hard at work covering many Anoka High School events, and they were excited to see that so many of you have already reserved you and your student’s copy.
SENIOR-ONLY Announcements:
Submit senior portraits to Jostens (and/or see the attached Doc). Senior portraits must be submitted by November 3, 2023.
If you are looking for a photographer to take your senior portraits, David Bank Studios has yearbook-only portrait and full senior portraits sessions available. You must have portraits taken by October 20, 2023 and submitted to Jostens by November 3, 2023.
If no senior portrait is submitted, your student’s Lifetouch school portrait will be used.
Important!: If your student has a full photo restriction, they will not be included in the yearbook - INCLUDING SENIOR PORTRAITS. To change photo restrictions, please complete your back to school verification via your parent account. If you have additional questions regarding photo restrictions, please contact Jill Blake.
