The Sunday Message for the Week of February 27, 2017
Good evening to all parents and staff. This is Kevin Biles, Principal of Pleasant Union Elementary with The Sunday Message for the week of February 27, 2017.
Starting this week our school will expand our communication service by sharing the Sunday Message via phone, text, and email.
While we are transitioning to the new system you are likely to receive multiple emails and phone calls with the Sunday Message. In order manage your contact preferences please set up an Info Center Account. You must use the email address that you have provided to our school. If your can’t open the account please update your email and other contact information using the linked Google Form.
In addition, sometime during the day on Monday, February 27th you will receive an “opt-in” message on the cell phone that we have on file for your child. It is important that you take a few moments to follow the steps to “Opt-in”.
I have linked a parent letter that describes the complete process.

Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of each month 4-5pm, location tba
First meeting: Wednesday, March 15th, 2017
Cost: Free

Secondary goals:

- Familiarize kids and their parents with chess resources, both local (clubs, lessons, tournaments) and online (www.chesskid.com).
Format:
We will use a combination of free play between participating students, informal pointers based on observation, and formal lessons in strategy and tactics based on workbooks, web resources, and parental supervisors’ knowledge.
