Principal's Perspective
Volume 7 11-10-15
Dear Skyline Family-
Septic Project Update
The project is progressing! The project manager for PPS came to last week's staff meeting and shared that students will still have access to parts of the field as the work continues. There are fences up in areas that are unsafe, but large areas of the field remain open for students to play soccer at recess. This new septic system is designed to work for many decades and has a built-in water purification system that will clean the water as it goes through the system. This is the only system like it in PPS! The project will be fully complete when we come back from Winter Break.
Chilly recess
Brrr! For the past few weeks, it has been cold and rainy during recess. However, we are still seeing students without coats. We will continue to provide recess outdoors unless there is a downpour or the temperature drops below freezing. Please remind your family to grab a sweatshirt or coat as they walk out the door for school. Thank you for helping us keep our students warm and toasty!
Eagle Spirit Fridays
Fridays are Eagle Spirit days at Skyline! This means that we bond together as a K-8 school community when we participate in school spirit! We encourage students and staff to show their Skyline Pride by wearing a Skyline Eagle T-shirt, or our school colors which are blue and/ or yellow. Classrooms can win a prize if they show the most spirit! We also have our PBIS Celebrations and Golden Eagle drawings on Fridays! We love to celebrate our community and all of our students' positive choices on Eagle Spirit Fridays!
Je Suis Paris
The news media over the weekend was saturated with information about the terrible attacks in Paris. Below is a link about how to approach this tragic event with children and teens:
