CYSP Holiday Breakfast

Saturday December 3rd we hosted a Holiday Breakfast for our CYSP students and their families. This was a great opportunity for our students' parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. to join us and not only learn more about what the program is and what our students have been up to, but also enjoy each other's company and come together and enjoy a meal. Breakfast was provided as well as several different craft stations for everyone to create some holiday crafts.

Horizon's First Holiday Shop

December 5th kicked off our Holiday Shop for our elementary students. This is our first year having this event here at HSA Lorain. Our newly founded Parent Engagement Committee (PEC) wanted to bring this, as well as other opportunities to our students this year. The holiday shop had gifts ranging from .25 cents to 13$ for our students to shop for. This way they can purchase gifts for their parents, siblings, and other loved ones on their own. Our parent volunteers helped run the shop, helped the students budget, and even wrap their gifts! If you are interested in joining our Parent Engagement Committee contact Mrs. Varner for more information. The Parent Engagement Committee is open to parents of students in grade Kindergarten through 12th grade.

School Administration Spreads Holiday Cheer

Some of our school administrators dressed up as holiday characters this week. Their blow-up costumes brought laughter and joy to all the classroom they visited. The week before break was filled with fun holiday dress. Including candy cane day, where students wore red and white, blizzard day, where the students wore blue and white, sock n' tops, where the students worse holiday socks and shirts, ugly sweater day, & p.j. day.

First Grade Holiday Show

Our first graders wrapped up December with the return of our first in person Holiday Show since the pandemic began. It was wonderful to be able to see families come in person again to watch their children perform. Our first graders have been practicing for weeks and sang 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer', Up on the Housetop', 'Jingle Bell Rock', & finished strong with 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'. We want to thank our hardworking teachers Mrs. Hribar, Ms. Rennie, Ms. Sokol, & Mr. Cochran for working with our students the past few months to help make this concert possible.
