This Week in S-3
What a great week of fun! We started this week with a snow day, then a fun school snow day! We had a blast. We also had a visit from Buddy the Roxy Reading Dog and every child got a chance to read to him. Lastly, we went shopping together in the book fair. There were some excellent book choices.
Please check your child's green folder daily and empty out any papers that come home. There are MANY work samples in their green folders today.
Please make a note that there is no school this Thursday and Friday. Enjoy your long weekend.
In S.S. we are starting our unit on maps. Please talk to your child about recognizing cardinal directions (N,S,E,W).
As the days become colder, please remember to send your child with the appropriate clothing items. We go out almost every day and with the wind it can get very chilly outside on the playground.
Thank you all the families that brought in paper towel rolls. We're using them to make number scrolls all the way up to 1000! We still need a few more so if you think of it, continue to send them in.
This week in our reading groups we will be working on fluency. Please allow your child to practice reading out loud to you for homework each night. No reading logs will be coming home. Thanks!
There is still a lot of snow! Enjoy it this weekend!
We love Jack!
Today we got to hear all about the fabulous life of Jack! Jack loves to play his game systems and spend time at school and with his family. In addition to being a math and reading wiz, Jack can play the keyboard! There are so many things that we love about Jack, but I love his smile the most! Jack rocks!
XtraMath Super Stars
Congratulations Tyler M., Jack and Liam! They have mastered the addition requirement for first grade. They are currently working on the subtraction program in XtraMath. Please continue to work on XtraMath with your child. Our entire class is doing great!
We still need Mystery Readers!
Thank you so much to the parents who have been mystery readers so far. Remember, all family members can still sign up! Click here to access the sign up list.
