This Week in S-3
What a great week of fun! We started this week with a snow day, then a fun school snow day! We had a blast. We also had a visit from Buddy the Roxy Reading Dog and every child got a chance to read to him. Lastly, we went shopping together in the book fair. There were some excellent book choices.
Please check your child's green folder daily and empty out any papers that come home. There are MANY work samples in their green folders today.
Please make a note that there is no school this Thursday and Friday. Enjoy your long weekend.
In S.S. we are starting our unit on maps. Please talk to your child about recognizing cardinal directions (N,S,E,W).
As the days become colder, please remember to send your child with the appropriate clothing items. We go out almost every day and with the wind it can get very chilly outside on the playground.
Thank you all the families that brought in paper towel rolls. We're using them to make number scrolls all the way up to 1000! We still need a few more so if you think of it, continue to send them in.
This week in our reading groups we will be working on fluency. Please allow your child to practice reading out loud to you for homework each night. No reading logs will be coming home. Thanks!
There is still a lot of snow! Enjoy it this weekend!
Fondly,
Leslie Wong
