Warwick Weekly

Big picture
Our weeklies will be emailed and posted on our web page most Thursdays in the evening. The newest points of interest will appear at the top along with a review of the previous week and things to look forward to for the next week. We include links to our Warwick Parent/Guardian Handbook and a page where we curate previously publicized flyers for easy referral. If you have ideas on how to improve our Warwick Weekly as a means of communication, "we want to hear from you." February Boomerang Youth Recognition

This month's Boomerang asset is #26 Caring: Young person cares about others. They place a high value on helping other people. Please use the form below to nominate a Warwick student for caring.

Warwick Goes Casual for a Cause!

Our staff has a Casual for a Cause effort where staff members put their names in a hat, the person whose name is pulled chooses a charitable foundation. For that month, staff members can donate money and dress casual for two designated days.

During January, Miss Katie Lynn O'Donnell was selected and she chose the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Our staff donated $165 to CFF. Additionally, we held a Casual for a Cause day raising $585 for the CBSD teacher and family who lost their home.

For the 2019-2020 school year, Warwick Staff Members have raised a total of $1496 in support of others!

Advocacy Part II

In an effort to give strength of voice to the many positive students here at Warwick, 5th and 6th grade homerooms had representatives join Dr. Leatherbarrow during an Advocacy Part II workshop today. We learned more about advocacy through games and we thought about Warwick's strengths. In the end, we built our vision for Warwick and wrote a Full Value Contract (FVC) that these student representatives will present to our entire student body. For years to come, students and staff will uphold the meaning of this FVC so that each and every person at Warwick is and feels fully valued.

Reminders about Arrival and Dismissal

Student Arrival

Students may begin arriving at 8:45 AM. Students are not permitted to arrive before 8:45 AM. The instructional school day begins at 9:05 AM.

Student Dismissal

Our instructional day ends at 3:45 PM. Our dismissal procedures occur between 3:45 and 4:05 PM.

Late Arrival to School

Any student arriving after 9:05 AM is late and can not be "dropped off" using the Meetinghouse Road parking lot loop. Parents/guardians need to park their cars and walk their late students into the Main Office. The parent/guardian will need to fill out an attendance slip with the reason for the lateness. See below for excusable reasons for lateness/absences.

Changing Your Dismissal Routine

If it is necessary to change your normal pick-up routine at the end of the day (e.g., a different adult picking up, bus rather than car, car rather than bus, a change in childcare arrangements, etc.) a written note must be presented to the classroom teacher, who will share the information with the office.

For unforeseen changes, parents/guardians may notify the office before 3:00 PM by phone (267-893-4055) of the change. Because teachers are engaged with students' learning and will not be able to check their email during the instructional day, do NOT email or call the classroom teacher regarding changes in dismissal plans.
