Mentoring, Supervising Pre-Service Teachers- NESA Registered

Leading Mentoring or Supervising ITE through Community of Practice (Semester 2 2017 - Semester 1 2018)

A NESA registered professional learning opportunity is available for teachers aspiring to the Highly Accomplished or Lead Accreditation levels for mentoring or supervising Pre-Service Teachers (PST). The courses are registered at Highly Accomplished and Lead levels, which means would also count as registered hours for Proficient teachers.

Mentors and Supervising teachers will work collaboratively with the PST(s) in a Community of Practice (CoP).

The format is three 2-hour sessions on Tuesdays of week5 (15/8), week7 (29/8) and week 9 (12/9), from 4-6pm, followed by 5-practical hours if participants supervise a PST from any University in semester 2 this year.

Note that supervising a PST this semester is not a requirement for attending this course and gaining the 6-registered hours of the face-to-face sessions.

This is a collaborative effort by the University of Technology Sydney and Turramurra High School, and the sessions will run at Turramurra High School.

Registration for Department of Education Teachers is free.

Register to attend here.
