There are a recorded total of 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. It is said to be the fastest growing religion and today there are about 6 million Muslims in America.
It is the second largest monotheistic religion, meaning only believing in one god. They believe there god is Allah.

The Islams believe that there are many prophets. Including: Noah, Abraham, Moses and Muhammad.
Muslims do not believe like the Christians that Jesus was the Messiah, they believe that he was a prophet.
Like we have the Holy Bible the Islams have the Quran, which gives much information just like the Hebrew Bible.
Differences between the Sunni and Shiite:
Shiites believe that after Muhammad, the next leader should have been in bloodline.
The Sunnis believe that after Muhammad, the leader should be someone who has already followed the prophet.
Sunnis have less of the hierarchy religion.
Shiites give status to the people of those prophets in Quran.
Sunnis usually are in the western areas and the Shiites are in the central areas.
When the Sunnis prayer they have hands to side.
When Shiites pray they have hands over stomach.
